Primer: If you are a regular in the Aavegotchi community, NoFuturistic would no doubt be a familiar name to you. He has been broadcasting Aavegotchi-related live streams and AMAs and recording them on his Music City Gotchi Gang YouTube channel. Today, we listen to his sharing on this episode of GotchiCaast.

Background

  • Was a former tax accountant, so the finance aspects of the bonding curve fascinated him

  • Used to rap and make music when he was younger

  • Did Improv Comedy in New York. Played on some of the house teams in the theatres

His Gotchis

  • Have 17 Gotchis

  • Have 5 Gotchis who are in the top 5000 for the BRS leaderboard

  • Have 11 Gotchis who are in the top 100-150 for the Rookie XP leaderboard

  • His top gotchi is named Dr Malcolm Crowe, after Bruce Willis’ character in The Sixth Sense. Has a BRS of 585 after he is fully equipped with wearables

  • Has 3 Haunt 1 and 14 Haunt 2 Gotchis

Topics Discussed On Twitter Spaces

💡 NoFuturistic held a Twitter space recently. The following points are what was discussed in the session.
  • It became clear that he did not have enough GHST, Gotchis, and land. Once Gotchi renting and farming is live, people would realize that they should have accumulated more

  • People would also be able to rent Gotchis without having to put down a thousand USD

  • People will realize that there’s not enough Gotchis:

    • ~17,000 that has been summoned out of the 25,000 portals

    • ~600 has been sacrificed already

  • Dr WAGMI did some back-of-the-envelope calculations and found that Gotchi renting should yield about $4 per day

Discussion On Baby Gotchis

  • In one of the hangouts, Coderdan floated the idea of Baby Gotchis

  • A Baby Gotchi would have a limited lifespan and have some of the features that a regular Aavegotchi would have

  • Would provide a cheaper entry into the game

  • Would not need to involve any breeding mechanic at all

How Can Low BRS Gotchis Maintain Their Relevance?

  • Thinks that it will depend on traits

  • Used RicJones, a community dev, as an example

  • RicJones created the Sushi Vader game. Gotchis with high NRG do better in the game

  • If RicJones has a parcel and decides to create a DApp of Sushi Vader and incentivizes it with prizes, higher NRG Gotchis may end up outperforming higher BRS Gotchis with lower NRG

  • Players can only use 1 Gotchi at a time. For those with multiple parcels and Gotchis, they would have to lend out their Gotchis to others to farm their land, with renters getting a certain percentage of the Alchemica in return

  • Dr WAGMI has started talking to guilds and trying to work out a deal with them because he has over 100 Gotchis

“I go to a bar with my laptop, and I'm doing Aavegotchi stuff. And people look at me like, I'm crazy because of the bright colors and all this.”

His Performance In The Last Auction

  • Purchased 9 parcels

  • Everyone’s strategy in the auction will be different

  • For those who want to win in the auction, they have to predict the floor accurately

  • For himself, his goal was to get outbidded as much as possible by the end of day 1. At day 3, right before hammer time, he would have a real idea of what the floor is and then buy accordingly

  • Entered with 4000 GHST and ended up making 600 GHST

  • Bought more parcels in the secondary market after the auction ended

  • For every GBM auction, the team has innovated and changed the format of the auction:

    • First GBM was pretty straightforward — only one incentive between 1 and 10%

    • Second GBM, they added the medium incentives and the degen incentives

    • For the REALM GBM, there is a one-time resource boost for some parcels

What Advice Does He Have For People?

  • Likes to keep it simple by dollar cost averaging

  • Tells people not to bridge from Ethereum Mainnet to Polygon unless they bridge a large amount at once. This is to optimize for gas fees

  • In terms of staking, he does single-sided GHST staking. Does not want to risk IL with other staking options

  • Currently, he does not have any GHST. Everything is in Gotchis, wearables, portals, and parcels

  • His goal is to get to 50,000 GHST staked. With this, he will be able to get 5 Drop Tickets per day

  • A Drop Ticket is worth ~11 GHST or ~$28-29 USD

  • 5 Drop Tickets could be sold for ~145 USD

  • Waiting for Aave to list GHST as a collateral. This opens up amGHST as collateral for Aavegotchi, which doubles the yield for the holder:

    • Yield from amGHST

    • Staking amGHST into the Aavegotchi and earning FRENS from that

  • For those who cannot afford a Gotchi or parcel, they could pick up a common wearable as he expects their value to go up over time. Another option is to do single-sided GHST staking

His Journey In Aavegotchi

  • Started with $6000 which he spread out over a few months

💡 IRON token is a partially collateralized token, soft pegged to the U.S. Dollar, available both on Polygon and on Binance Smart Chain. IRON is collateralized by USDC and TITAN on Polygon. When large investors started offloading TITAN, it triggered a cascade of TITAN sells that resulted in a 99% price crash.
  • Took $300 USD that he earned from Rarity Farming Season 1 and put it into TITAN when it fell by 99%. It then turned into 6000 GHST

  • Stopped flipping stuff after he realized that everything has gone up at least 3 times since he entered the ecosystem in April

  • Thinks that there is a lot more upside for Aavegotchi

    • Aavegotchi is shipping faster than other projects with richer valuations

    • Aavegotchi will have their project out before other projects do

    • Everyone will be able to benefit from the ecosystem (e.g. gamers, content creators, devs, etc.)

  • People do not realize the following about Aavegotchi:

    • The social media aspect (text chatting with one another in REALM)

    • Setting a lodge-like installation to host a museum gallery of your NFTs

“So there is like a level of social media to this game that nobody really talks about, the idea that we'll have guilds with a lodge, you can globally voice broadcast, or like you guys do a podcast, there's no reason you couldn't host that on your own parcel and then send it out to whatever guilds are associated with you.”

- NoFuturistic

  • Messaged Coderdan with his idea of setting up beggar Gotchis all over the grid where they would do a little dance after they receive a donation. Coderdan advised against it as it might drop the property value of the areas where the homeless Gotchis are at

  • Each parcel has a developer SDK. The idea is that people can create DApps on their parcels

Joining the Aambassador Program

  • Joined the Aambassador V2 program in May

  • Originally signed up to be a Facebook page, but got locked out of it

  • Thought of which social media to use after that. Decided to go into videos because of his background

  • As an Aambassador, he gets 10 XP per Gotchi and USDC every month. With 17 Gotchis, this incentivizes him to put out content and help onboard people

“I like to spread the gospel of Gotchi because I really do think that this is going to be what makes me rich.”

- NoFuturistic

  • There’s not a lot of Aavegotchi content. Started broadcasting live streams and AMAs just to help build content around Aavegotchi

Has He Used The Crypto.com L2 Direct Withdrawal Bridge?

  • Has not used it yet

  • Generally use the Aavegotchi Bridge or the bridge in Aave
