GotchiCaast - GotchiBrothers Live from EthDenver 2023
Primer: Dr Wagmi is back on GotchiCaast! In this episode, he discusses the Aavegotchi Forge, the first and largest community-built project in the Aavegotchi ecosystem. Read on and find out the exciting things he has in store for the community!
Is Dr Wagmi Still Buying FAKE Gotchis?
Have hundreds of FAKE Gotchis, but they are copies of the same ones
His goal for 2023 is to get more FAKE Gotchis
Need to learn from Grim and his FAKE Gotchi gallery
What’s It Like To Be Dr Wagmi In The Aavegotchi Community?
Had a talk with Aragon about what a better voting process would look like and how to make it easier for people to be engaged
There’s a huge gap between people who are in Aavegotchi full-time vs the casual users
Need a central place for the community to learn instead of tons of different websites for people to go to
Hardest part is the loss of good faith and people assuming he is up to something nefarious
The Forge
Its Impact
The first community-built protocol upgrade
Has seen asset appreciation across the board
Have burnt over 350,000 alloy
Extremely values his team members, Oliver Spoon and Mikey Jay
The Design Process
The big challenge is having 2 teams: (1) Pixelcraft, (2) Forge team
The Forge team is responsible for creating the Forge UI
Pixelcraft has to get the auctions process ready
In the future, he will push Pixelcraft to let his team take over the UX
On The Complexity Of Aavegotchi
Need better UI/UX to educate in a quick and intuitive way
Will be bringing in Diddly’s dressing room to the Forge to help suggest wearables for your gotchis and for one-click purchases
Have a long-term vision for the Forge
Being A Proposal Writer
“There's a pretty intense vulnerability to putting it [proposals] up there. Like you put yourself out there with a Sig Prop, right, and people come at you.”
- Dr Wagmi
Need to work on assuming the best in each other and having good intentions
A great example is the amazing work that Gotchiverse Media International (GMI) is doing
Felt that GMI was underfunded and has put up a prop to double or triple their budget
Have to recognize talent
It’s easier to keep existing contributors than getting new ones
“Seeing NoFutures’ hustle is unbelievable. When he busts out his kit, he's got these microphones with Aavegotchi stickers on them. I was like, oh my god, this is so legit.”
- Dr Wagmi
Collaborative Wearables
Building a structure for the community to collaborate with other projects and design wearables together
Creating a pathway for wearable skins — Taking the exact same pixel design but just changing the colours
Dr Wagmi And Goobz’ Weekly Show
Trying to get Goobz on stage
Interested in developing community talent
